Today embarks a staple into the Exclusives™ timeline in that our very own Mike Rios will be having his marriage ceremony this afternoon. Mandrews and I will be fancied out in suits to help celebrate his union with his longtime girlfriend Jillian Doran. The two are inseparable and the illest combo since Charles and Ray Eames. Stay tune for the photos. You might get a glimpse of Matt “Hot steppa” Andrews or Fillmore “Footloose” Belafonté killing the dance floor…or eating some mean ass steak. On behalf of the rest of the E™ crew, I’d like to say congratulations to the both of you, Mike and Jill.
My sister used to work in the Time Warner Center and she mentioned to me about the Modern Art and Design museum soon to open. I was ecstatic hear it finally opened in September. Pentagram was the company to do it’s awesome graphic identity. I can’t wait to set foot in this place when I head back to NY and if you can’t make it there, check out the exterior and interior photos of the museum here.
The people behind the TED talks recently released an iphone app which lets you get ted talks from youtube OTA on your phone. I’ve recently been pining for more inspiration in my life and thus I’m trying to watch one talk a day on my commute to work. This was todays choice.
I’ve been interested in this movie since I saw the trailer, but I visited the website to find out info on the anticipated Coraline Dunks. Fortunately, the site had more to offer. An awesome interactive site with lot of features including behind the scene video clips, desktop screensaver of beautiful patterning, photo manipulation to put buttons over your eyes, posters and bookmarkers for you to print out. The art direction they took with this movie was impressive. There’s a link to a blog, which has been talking about the Coraline Dunks for all the collectors out there, but explore the site.
I’ve been getting more into information design with the combination of motion graphics. Amsterdam’s Buro Knapzak created this piece that is a little creepy, but the visuals keep you interested throughout the whole piece from the color pallete to they way they animate… and there’s a talking robot dog at the end.
i saw some of the posters on ffffound and traced it back to the well medicated site. it has a good variety of different styles, approach and treatment to promote the bad.
wow, was it just me or did the internet kinda-sorta almost pause for a minute there while we sat through those dveloper demos? nice one steve. full coverage on engadget i dunno… i wish it was a completely new build, oh and it’s $299 for the white 16 gig, if you didnt see it.
Off register is a traveling show exhibiting experimental printmaking and a show I have been waiting for for the past 3 weeks or so. I was fortunate to see the show which gave me some inspo to hit the school screen printing studio, which reminds me that I need to pay for that fee. Fuck, that means I can’t buy that Hecox print that I’ve been meaning to buy there. Hmm, rent money or a print? Anyway, I have the photos on my flickr page.
Booyah!…and for all you Chicagoans, make a trip out to West Town and check out some prints…even buy a print or two.
When I used to ride terjé was one of the dudes I used to fanboy over, much like Craig Kelly (RIP) and Jeff Brushie. While I havent seen or heard what Brushie is up to I still find rad clips of terjé destroying everything. Case in point watch the video below. Balls son, BALLS!
My agency TAXI did something really cool this year. I wont go into detail in this post but you should check out the 15below site and make double sure you check out the test video. I’m stoked on this idea and on the fact that my employer is fuckin’ RAD. http://15belowproject.org
