To be honest I’m trying to do my part in making myself greener, you know recycling, taking public transit etc. But I’m still a huge bottled water freak. Part of that is due to the fact that my Toronto water is highly chlorinated. I can smell it when I take a shower, its gross actually. But part of it is that I’m just not used to carrying around my own personal water vessel. I’m testing myself at work right now since we have switched from having bottled water at TAXI to having water bottles available to fill up with filtered water from the fridge. So far things are going well. These KOR Water bottles look neat, a bit steep on their projected price of $30 but the savings in the end will offset the initial cost.
I’m hopefully going to grab 2 when they drop this august, their site is kinda nice too.
Why are you saying that Toronto water is “highly chlorinated?” If you are going to make such a grand statement perhaps you could be more specific. How much chlorine is in Toronto tap water? What kind of chlorine is it?
Why do you think you can smell it in the shower?
Why on earth would you waste so much money on bottled water and cheap filtration systems when Toronto water is higher quality than any bottled water and Toronto water is already filtered?
Do you think these cheap fridge filters do anything more than remove the calcium that you need?
You call yourself a bottled water freak. Saves me the trouble of calling you that.
cheers
Mark
Randi here from KOR.
Looks like we got your attention. The design on our KOR ONE is meant to be sleek and sophisticated–and yet simple. We are very excited about it and so are lots of people on the web, who have gotten to see the photos and our website.
The KOR ONE will give both of you the options you want. Mark C can fill his KOR ONE up with water right out of the tap, which is inexpensive and convenient. Drew can fill his up with filtered water or water from his home system–whatever he thinks tastes best to him.
When you consider the cost of buying bottled water in individual serving sizes, the KOR ONE will pay for itself in just a few “fill ups”. But the real savings is in the “saving” of our planet. The throw away mentality must be modified and quickly if we are to have any impact on reducing our landfills. There are lots of bottles out there, but the KOR ONE is unique in that it doesn’t look like a sports bottle. It really is more of a work of art.
And let’s not forget the health issues of BPA. The KOR ONE is BPA free.
Thanks for your help spreading the word–it is an amazing product. Look for us this August when we start production. http://www.korwater.com
hi mark thanks for commenting.
maybe a few answers.
“Why are you saying that Toronto water is “highly chlorinated?” If you are going to make such a grand statement perhaps you could be more specific. How much chlorine is in Toronto tap water?”
- right, your correct in the assumption that i dont know exactly how much chlorine is in my fine toronto water, I know it more than I like it to be, is that not enough?
“What kind of chlorine is it?”
- ha you got me there sadly I dont know maybe you do, care to enlighten me?
“Why do you think you can smell it in the shower?”
- like I said above I’m assuming that I can smell it cause there is an abundance of cholrine in my water I’ve personally had it tested multiple times by different water folk and they all tend to agree that my water has “high” amounts of chlorine.
“Why on earth would you waste so much money on bottled water and cheap filtration systems when Toronto water is higher quality than any bottled water and Toronto water is already filtered?”
- sadly I dont like the taste and I’m more than happy to pay for it, money is a non issue.
“Do you think these cheap fridge filters do anything more than remove the calcium that you need?”
- i’m sure that they filter fine, I’m just not a fan.
“You call yourself a bottled water freak. Saves me the trouble of calling you that.
cheers
Mark”
- your right I called myself that, but did it really save you the time it took to retype that out for everybody else in the comments? I guess so.
