I noticed that my California post is repetitve. There’s only so many times I can put up my Rubio’s dish or my animal style In-N-Out fries. So, for this first Cali Re-Up series I will showcase the designs of shopping bags and product packaging of the items I purchased out in the wild wild west.
When I saw the cover, I thought that Si Scott had just did a mini collaboration. As I picked it up and skimmed through the couple of pages, it turned out that the KDU was the creative minds behind the whole magazine. The layout and font treatment reminded me of a new bigger version of The Royal. Pick up your copy today. More photos after the jump.
Hornall-Anderson is one of the most notable design firms in Seattle, and is largely responsible for “legitmizing” design as a powerful business in the city. For the past quarter century Hornall-Anderson have been responsible for branding and packaging for a vast majority of clients, including the Seattle Supersonics, Starbucks, T-mobile, Redhook brewery, and countless other clients.
More recently Hornall-Anderson have assembled a very impressive interactive team, but no one believed them. Their website was clunky and hard to navigate and smelled of “trying too hard.”
But all that has changed, the site is dynamic, engaging, and functional as all hell (just try typing the word packaging anywhere on the site).

I’ve been in love with Keri Hilson for the longest not only for her good looks and voice, but of her writing abilities as well. Having her and Nicole Scherzinger in a video together is hot shit. Only these two could make the bank robber mask look sexy!

The Guardian deck takes elements of ancient scriptural art and combines them with a modern, industrial design. Probably the finest deck of cards you could own.
Printed on Bicycle’s signature Air Cushion Finish. These are “performer” cards, but you could very well have a great game of hold’em with these.

When I used to ride terjé was one of the dudes I used to fanboy over, much like Craig Kelly (RIP) and Jeff Brushie. While I havent seen or heard what Brushie is up to I still find rad clips of terjé destroying everything. Case in point watch the video below. Balls son, BALLS!

Drop some knowledge.

The new Passat CC looks like a fellow German counterpart, but it can definitely hold it’s own with a gang of features. Notably Lane Assist, Dynamic Drive Control, Park Assist, and Automatic Distance Control. Whatever the hell that means. All you need to know is that it has 280hp.
I know i’m fucking hella late with this, but shit you should be used to this by now.
So we as in the people that attempt to make semi-regular updates to this thing, got together and came up with a set of totally optional things you liked about the 07′ year plus the one thing that got submitted by adrian over at rolling revival. With a tip from Ryan Northway, Google is giving 10M to any person that can write the best program that works with their operating system. Straight up 3G speed! My favorite feature is using street view on Google Maps.

You can see the opening sequence to Juno done by Shadowplay Studio. It’s a movie I’ve been wanting to see, but stupid bitches have been making other plans.
