This has been semi-buzz since the beginning of the year when Burton showed this hoodie for the Fall line. As I leave the Wicker Park area, I did my last “rounds” around the hood, stopping at the shops I will not be visiting as frequently as before. To my surprise the hoodie was available.

Have we really come this far? Could this be the new-school version of the mix-tape cassettes of yester-year? Do people even remember cassettes?

The internet world is constantly evolving and Billy Kostka is taking advantage of the whole situation. Rollerblading took it’s toll by creating blogs and our very own radio show, but not in the way Billy is doing it. I caught up with Billy to see what the haps behind “Not a Lifeboat”.

One of my best friend Anthony Peraza had a huge birthday bash in Hollywood club Tokio. Photographer Rony Alkin was there to shoot portraits of the guest and my friends. From the look of the photo, you can imagine what kind of party it was.
Peep game.

After my week vacation in California, I talked to Matt Mickey and he mentioned that the Bakersfield Californian, the Bakersfield newspaper, came to the shop and interviewed him about rollerblading. After much anticipation, Matt finally emailed me the full article including photos and video. It looks like we’re finally getting some media play, at least in Bakersfield. The 3-person FRONT Design team “draws” directly into the air using the tip of a pen, creating invisible line sequences that are captured by surrounding cameras connected to computers. Then, the sketches are translated into 3D digital files, which are subsequently materialized through an innovative Rapid Prototyping technique.”
