this is what funny looks like.

if you were watching good morning america this morning, or read the NY Times yesterday, you might have heard about the “new” Today Sponge, and how it’s coming back to retail after an absence from store shelves with all new packaging. packaging and branding courtesy of the LOVELY Jillian Doran, who some of you may also know as my rad girlfriend.

i had to pinch this from sky’s riottt blog. i first saw the cad line sheets for the nike tech pack a good 2 or 3 months ago. a good friend of mine will have the line at his shop this fall, and when i saw these real pics of the goods yesterday, i had to share them here.

wow.. im a magazine dude at heart. since i was about 12 i’ve had a subsription of some sort to atleast one of an ever changing array of magzines. yesterday i was at walnut st. catching up on photos, and i saw that our antenna mags had finally showed up. i took a look at the cover, scanned what was inside it, and then immediately read the james bond interview. dope. content that i hadnt seen on the internet. you won me over antenna. good job.
and.. the dudes that run it are good people too! look for some ubiq content in coming issues. i just noticed jeff ng posted about them, they’re getting their shine.. give them a read if you get a chance.

so… let’s talk dark knight for a hot minute here. were you up on the harvey dent campaign site?
Growing up and having your birthday at Chuckie Cheeses was like a turning point in any childs life. Low and behold they have made most Chuckie Cheeses more accessible for the young young folks these days, and while my fond memories of skeet-ball and winning tickets and lining up to play their double dragon machine are best remembered now the above video does take me back to swamp water soda and electronic animals playing parlor tunes.

I’m not going to lie. This Cali was boring than other times I came back, except for one day. Due to gas prices raping my wallet, I didn’t drive to Los Angeles that much and Delano was pretty boring other than the skatepark, but it’s was hard to get the motivation to grab my skates and get loose at 100º+ weather. I didn’t get to visit Intuition and Co. partly due of bad timing, but I did manage to do enough to do an article.
Funny really but I havent bought a skate video since Noire, before that it was some VG. Not having a local shop sucks really. It puts you out of touch with rolling in your hood. To my knowledge the closest decent shop is in Montreal (d-structure).
So back to the post. Brown brothers, checkmate mixtape 3. watch it.
i’m not gonna front, i LOVE this girl. look at those legs, that leather and that bob. i also have to admit that i’m in love with neau school rih, I’m about to ditch nat to be with her, but I thought this hilarious for her to collaborate with her hit song and the actual item. imagine if andre 3000 collaborated with polaroid when “hey ya” came out. anyway, grab them while you can. i already ordered 50.
p.s. thanks to kristopher dukes for the tip.

When i was a vegetarian, I would eat anything that is tofu, but never thought about the process of it. m ss ng p eces along with Cool Hunting did this delicious tutorial on how it is made. I DARE you to try it.

of course there is a one big reason why I had to post this up.

Check out this interview with photographer extraordinaire Lynnette Astaire right over here

HBO Voyeur is pretty neat

Yeah its skateboarding but its a pretty fly site. Plus ODOPOD are relentless when it comes to flash sites.
One of my favorite artists gives a sample of his show, which looks amazing. If you’re in the Holland area, I would recommend checking this out.

Few things to note. Harmonix no longer makes Guitar Hero since it was sold to the Neversoft dudes (think THPS). First footage of GH3 looks weak to me I loved the look and feel that harmonix was bringing to the game and I’m really going to miss that.
Rock band looks unbelievable, with rumors of a 200$ price tag for the game which includes the drums guitars and microphone. One thing I did catch is that the people playing looked just like the performers on the stage, there is even a part of the video where you see the girls face on screen and it looks quite good. Could there be some sort of character builder involved? E3 is just around the corner and I hope they shed more light on this game. I would expect it to drop before the holidays tho I wish it would drop sooner. Lets hope for online battle of the bands and downloadable content on all the next gen systems.
