Forum did something awesome recently. Not only did they produce an incredibly solid team video that’s oozing with style, they put that shit on itunes for 2 bucks. The full video for only 2 bucks! If you care at all about action sports video production I highly reccomend this video.
So following on the trip front from chris’s London adventure we managed to impecably time chris’s arrival home with my arrival in Philly almost to the minute if customs had decided they needed to unpack my luggage and talk to me about terrorism,oh well good job they did it when i had nothing to hide. I will add in here that this post lacks a little in photo documentary due to the fact I was having such a great time I always forget to snap what im doing till im home and the moment has passed.Thankfully chris and mike were snapping away. This post could very well have been set in Las Vegas. Magic trade show was in town as well as the NBA all star game and although that probably seems like the best place to head to from a -16 Philadelphia, I had my eyes set on something much bigger – HOME! There was a whole bunch of people I needed to see about UBIQ, not to mention the fact I had a major craving for Ribena, Kebabs and Match of the Day. Seen as this was an official business trip, I opted to approach this post with the same execution as Mr. Ricky Kim. You’ll get the gist after the ‘jump’.
Since no one has posted in a while, I thought I’d bring a little late news. The new Royal Magazine was last weekend and along with that is the PDF version and flash version of the free published east coast magazine. It features a photo shoot where Matt™ and I were both at the KDU with Lynnette Astaire, another article in which I have been lagging to post up. Anyway, enjoy.
I saw this a while ago via Newtoday and recently I’ve really been into typography. Manuel Kiem is a designer in Italy who just designed a cube with different shapes all to create letters. Not only is this idea genius, but the font shape is amazing. Check out his process in his blog here and stay tuned for the typecube font.
Well, if you can’t afford the iphone, Cingular and Rodgers Wireless (for you Canadians) are in luck. This bad boy is going to give you an option. To me it’s a big ass Pearl, but that bigger screen will give you that ability to take advantage the multi media features, the map for when you get lost, and the organize seems promising.
oh yeah the website looks hot too (click above to enter the site).
It’s slow and yeah we’ll prolly catch some flack for posting yet another youtube video but this touches a special part of my being. Since after all linerider was bought and will soon be brought ton the nintendo DS and wii I cant help but fell really excited to see how they run with this simple idea of lines and gravity. I’m personally hoping for some sweet online sharing via wiiconnect24 or even the ability to pas maps back and forth like photoshop tennis. anyways pick yourself a new soundtrack since this video includes nickelback one of my least favorite canadian bands (and I’m canadian)
Caught an interesting article on altmusictv that compares the programming scheudle from Feb 2nd, 1998, to Feb 2nd, 2007. Interesting, yet to people like me, quite depressing:
from the VBS.tv website
“VBS is an online broadcast network. We stream original content, free of charge and 24 hours a day. We carry a mix of domestic and international news, pop and underground culture coverage, and the best music in the world. People have used words like eclectic, smart, funny, shocking, and revolutionary to describe VBS, but we kind of just snapped our fingers in their faces and went, “Whatever. Tell us something we don’t know.”
With Academy Award-nominated director Spike Jonze (Adaptation, Being John Malkovich) as our creative director, original content from a veritable United Nations of contributors, and bureaus in 20 countries, VBS has hit the planet in a manner not unlike a massive global plague. Streaming on VBS’s signature “in-room” widescreen and remote, content will be available all the time, on-demand.
Basically, VBS will exploit every utopian vision the internet has thus far failed to live up to. Thanks for watching.”
Back in the day, my friends and I would have Superbowl parties, not because of the game, but because of the commercials, in particularly Nike’s. They would announce the new Jordan shoe to come out in February and we were excited for them. Well, this year there was no such thing and I would have liked to see the “Second Coming” commercial pop up in there instead of two or three weeks before the Superbowl, but it wasn’t great timing. Anyway, embedded is a classic commercial my friends and I were juiced about.
*Bonus
Since I am a fan of the XI’s I had to put this in. I’m not sure if this was one of the commercials that was on the Superbowl also, but it’s funny.
No, Mike and I (along with everyone else involved in this project) didn’t just give birth to a baby – although at the moment, it almost feels like we did. At 06:50 on Monday, a crack team of contractors swooped the premises at 1509 Walnut Street and began work on the first stages of this enormous renovation. It’s only a matter of weeks until Philadelphia changes for the better.
